Today was your day at grandma & grandpas. You kept yourself busy reading your "soft" book, playing with your toys as well as different items I pulled from the kitchen drawers. You talked to gray kitty each time he skirted around you, squealed with delight with Marley's dog kisses and made several attempts to taste test his dog biscuits (grandma made sure you didn't carry out your intentions), before dropping it to him. You enjoyed your time with grandpa on the couch, every now and then you would stop what you were doing and wave to him.
Your breakfast was oatmeal with yogurt, for lunch, sweet potatoes with yogurt, and dinner, pureed butternut squash with yogurt. Grandma sings a little Norwegian prayer before she starts to feed you, and every time you smile so big, followed by cute, funny sound, I am convinced you are laughing at my inability to sing; but that is okay because that smile is worth it to me.
The time came to bundle you up and take you home. I thought you would fall asleep, but you insisted on talking, and so we jabbered the entire time.
Once home we went through our ritual of getting you out of your car seat, putting you in your walker car, letting Murphy out, then letting Murphy in. You drove around the kitchen managing to remove most of your magnetic numbers off the fridge, but when you heard the door open, and the sound of your mother's voice calling your name, suddenly nothing else mattered...I hugged the two of you good bye, and slipped out the door, feeling like I was the luckiest person on earth.
Grandma loves you LillaMai...I love you Lise!
