My Favorite Saturdays

 

My favorite Saturdays are when you come to grandpa and grandma's house for the day.  The house comes alive with the sound of your jabbering and squeals.  Marley looks forward to the treats you give him, and Gray Kitty no longer runs for cover (just lays where he knows you can't reach him). 

Grandma and grandpa don't mind stepping around your walker, toys scattered from the kitchen table to the living room couch and into the office, nor do I notice how much sweet potato and oatmeal splatter there is on my clothes or glasses, until I happen to look in the mirror (& it always makes me laugh). 

...and when you've gone home, and the toys are all neatly put back on the bed, the diaper pail emptied, I can hardly wait to see you again.

Toys

Today we went through your basket of toys.  There were colorful wooden numbers you enjoyed for quite awhile.  You hugged most of your stuffed animals, spent some time in your little kitchen, lost all of the Hungry Hippo balls under the couch, listened and starred at talking Elmo (but would not hold him).  You clapped your hands to the singing dog, chewed  on your rattle a lot; but when your glow worm doll lit up and music played you gave grandma a big grin, squealed, moved your arms back and forth with more squeals of delight.

New Shoes

"Look grandma, mom and dad got me some new shoes!"

Your Father Graduates with Honors

Dale Carnegie said, "Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all." 


This year your father accomplished a lot.  He found and worked on a home for your mother and you, while working and going to college.  Today, he graduated with honors.  


We came together to celebrate.  There were aunts and uncles, great aunts and uncles, grandparents and your great grandmother, together with food we had a wonderful time!

Cousin: Lucy Pearl

Today while grandma was watching you, we got the message your cousin, Lucy Pearl was born!  Grandma cheered for joy, then you squealed with delight then we both cheered!  What fun you are to celebrate with.  I love you Lillamai.

Lunch

 

Today's lunch; stuffed cheese pasta & peas for grandpa & grandma.  Pureed sweet potatoes for LillaMai.

 

LillaMai: "Is this what's for lunch???"

 

LillaMai: "How come you get stuffed shells & peas and I get pureed sweet potatoes, again?"

Grandma: "You cannot have solid foods yet, pumpkin."

LillaMai: "Oh, ok."

The Jungle Gym

"I have this really cool jungle gym my mother got me.  This here is a fly, and grandma says flies fly. "

"Ok, let see how he flies."

"Nothings happening."

"Maybe if I shake him, he'll fly.

"Ummm."

"I don't think he flies."

"This is suppose to spin."

"This works!"
